Join us November 5th for our 2nd annual Kickin’ Kids Cancer 5k Family Fun Run to raise money for childhood cancer. The event will start and end at Brookstone Country Club in Acworth, GA. All proceeds from the race will be split between CURE Childhood Cancer (www.curechildhoodcancer.org) and Camp Sunshine (www.mycampsunshine.org). This event was held last October for the first time and raised over $20,000 for these two wonderful organizations. Our patient, Bredan, is a 15 month cancer survivor and he and so many children like him are where they are today because of the studies and research that has been done over the years for children with cancer. CURE is one of those organizations that has helped with that research. Camp Sunshine is an organization that provides programs for kids with cancer and their families. Their programs let these kids be kids again and are amazing support for siblings and parents.
Kickin’ Kids Cancer was started last year after Brendan was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor on his left kidney. There are 36 kids a day diagnosed with cancer in the United States. We decided we wanted to try and make a difference no matter how small it might be, so the Kickin’ Kids Cancer Fun Run began. After last years success and the wonderful feedback we received, we are going to do it again! Please join us and help support this awesome cause!
The run will start at 8 am on November 5th at Brookstone Country Club, 5705 Brookstone Drive, Acworth, GA 30101. There will also be a silent auction held to raise proceeds for the run. Food and plenty of refreshments will be provided, along with trophy prizes given out by runners age group. More information about the run can be found at www.kickinkidscancer.org or call our office for details.
